Printing on Tiles Workshop

This is a one-day, clay workshop where participants will have the opportunity to make six, printed tiles. Students will learn how to print images on tiles using stencils, silkscreens, and underglaze transfers.  Low-fire clay and underglazes will be provided.  Firing of completed work is included in the price.  Students may pick up completed work from the Haycock Center or choose to have completed work mailed to them.  Shipping fees are additional.

Class size is limited to 10 participants, two people per table.

Fee:  $65.00 Class Registration Fee (Shipping  Fees are additional)

Level: Beginner. No prior clay experience is necessary

Ages : 16 and up

Below is a list of items for all students to bring to class:


          á       Work Apron

          á       Container for Water

          á       Small Sponge

          á       Rubber gloves for Glazing

          á       Towel to Clean Your Hands

          á       Notebook and Pencil

          á       Bagged Lunch, Snack & Drink


There are many clay tools in the art room available for your use.  Only the above list of items is required for you to bring to class.  If you have you have your own clay tools, you are also welcome to bring the below items:

          Canvas to Work On

          Rolling Pin

          Fettling Knife

          Needle Tool

          Rubber Rib (Mud Tools Ribs, Red, Yellow or Green work well)

          Paint Brushes for Applying Glazes

          Paint Mixing Tray

          Your Potters/Signature Stamp.

          Any Silkscreens/Stencils/Underglaze Transfers that you’d like to use.

          Small Rubber Squeegee for Screen Printing (sizes, 3” to 6”).

          Texture Mats and Rollers

          If you want to fire your own work, a Box or Tray to carry your work home.
